Laura Whalen
Laura Whalen is the creator and curator of The Bábóg Project.
Laura has been a doll-maker since 2010 and has been teaching doll-making since 2012. She is also a writer, a visual artist and the creator of community and liminal spaces. She understands arts and crafting as an act of deep expression and exploration of our own lives and of the world around us. She believes that when we create we can bypass the need for words, we can feel things we have never felt before, or been allowed to feel before. We can translate what is in our hearts through our hands.
Laura lives in a quiet little village on the coast of County Cork, Ireland with her 5 children and partner.
Aside from raising her family, Laura is currently engaged in a personal exploration of creativity through the visual arts at the studio she shares with her partner. She is also still teaching doll-making both as a healing modality and also to pass on this ancient and lost craft.
For news of her upcoming workshops you can visit her Facebook page.
Laura is available for interview, speaking engagements and consultation.
